The American Coptic Association (Christians of Egypt) asks every Copt allover the world to expose the fanatic and barbaric actions against their brethren in our homeland, Egypt . You are encouraged to write to your congressman, senator and the White House regarding the recent attacks on Copts of Jirza, Giza , Egypt .

The attacks on our fellow Copts are detailed in the following report issued by “The Word Center for Human Rights” of Egypt :

Events started on Friday night 11/7/2003 when electricity was cut off the village of Jirza and the neighboring villages at around 8:00 PM when huge numbers of armed Muslims gathered chanting anti-Christian and Jihad slogans and carrying sharp objects, knives and flammable materials claiming that Copts of the village are trying to renovate and extend a church building established over half a century ago. The attacks resulted in:

The homes of the following Copts were burned:

1- Saad Farid Abdel Malak
2- Saber Bibawy Khalil
3- Magdy Shawky Abdel Wanis
4-Faris Abdallah

Stores of the following Copts were completely looted and destroyed:

1-Hilal Ghobrial Abdel Malik (Grocery Store) 2- Ebid Makram Ghobrial (Grocery wholesale)
3-Said Makram Ghobrial (Cement and insecticide merchant)
4-Rida Yousef (Shoe store) 5-Talaat Yacoub Khalil (Tailor)
6-Yacoub Khalil Samaan (Tailor) 7-Farag Wasif (Tailor)
8- Hany Barsoum (Laundry)

The homes of the following Copts were looted:

1-Ashraf Shawky Abdel Wanis 2- Manassa Ghobrial

3-Samuel Mahrous (two homes) 4-Nagy Abdallah

The following Copts' owned fields were uprooted:

1-Mokhles Yousef 2-Adel Yousef Melikah 3-Hany Yousef Abdallah

4-Ebid Makram Ghpbrial 5-Shawky Wanis Abdel Malak

6-Saber Habib Sourial 7-Guirgis Habib Guirgis

The following Copts were injured:

1-Hilal Ghobrial Abdel Malik (Fracture to the right arm)

2-Amal Hilal Ghobrial (Skull fracture and brain concussion, she is in a very bad condition)

3-Yousry Ayad Farid (Facial wounds and bruises allover his body)

4-Samuel Mahrous Khalil 5- Souad Habib Sourial (Superficial wounds)

6-Yacoub Khalil Samaan 7-Gamila Helmy 8-Noura Wahba

9-Christine Yousry Ayad Farid (18 months old child) 10 Hakima Awadallah
