It is a good paragraph, but it has to be taken in a spritiual sense. The struggle of St.Athanasius and St.Dioscoros and in fact all the confessors and martyrs was a spiritual struggle, a struggle for the faith, a struggle to fight Satan and never succumb to half truth. And it did not stop there, in fact, during the islamic ages there were myriads of martyrs and confessors, like Abu Hadid, Nikam the Repentent, Salib El-Gadid, Bashnouna, and even converts from islam like Wadeh Ibn El-Raga(later called Boulos) and El-Musa7em (later called Gerges).
But , as far as I understand this forums, this is a political struggle for equality and human rights of Copts. We must go in this way with care, so we do not cross the line of christian values. We need to work on helping our bretheren back in Egypt, but in a way that reflects our true spirit.
Let us also not forget our other great heritage, the Pharaoh heritage. We are the source of civilization in the whole World, and the great accomplishments they achieved on all aspects of life needs to be a source for confidence for us.
