Are you for that, or against it, or are you just stating a reality ?
I do not share any of that. We have our own identity, our own culture, and our own way of thinking. Maybe some intrusions happened to our culture, and of course adoption of arabic did take a lot from our ethnic awareness, but that does not necessarily translate to a total loss of our culture.

And this is the responsibility of families foremost. How many of the fathers talk to their coptic kids about the greatness of our fathers, their struggle for survival and their struggle to give the faith to the coming generation?

How many of us teach the Pharaonic culture, its elements, its great achievments, and its great people ?

How many of us teach their kids that there were Origen, Clement, Athinagoras, Pentinus, Dedimos, Athanaisus, Peter the Seal of Martyr, Cyril, Severus (of Antioch, but he found refuge in Egypt) and other fathers who shaped the whole World by their thoughts ?

Take St.Shenouti as an example. This man shaped the Coptic nation from the 5th till the 10th century, insisting on maintaining the Coptic pride and Egyptian culture in face of a very strong and universal Greek culture ?
Now, Greek is a great culture as well, but it is the realization of the importance of our roots that we loose sight of.

I want my coptic people to be coptic nation, not a western nation or an american one, or an arabized one. We should love in peace with all others, for sure, but as steadfast people in our heritage.
