The Egyptian police arrested today August 8 th. 2007 in the morning (Egyptian ) two of the Members of the Middle East Christians Association "MECA" in Egypt. Dr. Adel Fawzy, the Director of the organization in Egypt and Mr. Peter Thabet, an active member of the organization.

The national security police broke into the apartment of Dr. Adel Fawzy and destroyed and damaged every thing in his apartment. The police is following the rest of the organization's administrators in Egypt. Later today, there was a car from the police following one of our administrator's car for 3 hours. The police undercover car is a russian car make LA DA white, plate # 130942 registered in the state of Giza, but he was able to escape from them. Other members are hiding now from the police avoiding their arrest at this time.

It came to our knowledge now that they are charging Dr. Adel Fawzy and Mr. Peter Thabet that they are preaching Christianity, contacting foreign associations, that they are dangerous to the safety and peace of Egypt and belittling ISLAM.

Please take a swift action by contacting the US congress, Human Rights organizations and the Egyptian Government to help releasing the members of the Coptic Christian association from prisons and torture. Your support is greatly appreciated.
