Hey Bemoi, 1st thank you for this discussion.... about the Flag, I'm proud because its the flag of my country, and if it is to be changed for any reason i'll still be proud of it....but if the reason to change the flag is because one of the symbols in it is related to Islam, then again, Muslims are Egyptians, and not having a Christian sign on the flag does not mean that I am not Egyptian. the 2nd idea i'm having now is that, not having a Christian sign on the flag, doesn't mean that Christians are second grade Egyptians. It is not by any mean a way of disregarding the Christians as Egyptians. Finally....no matter of the symbols...I'll be proud of my flag Love, Cobra ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I see the crescent as a symbol of Islam but, I do not see the eagle or the falcon as such symbol. By the way "koreish" symbol (the falcon) was chosen before Islam. Koreish was against Islam and fought Mohamed. This symbol is only of Arab and strength. Even it was intended I don't hate Muslims even we disagree in points of veiw, I don't hate their symbols, and I love so much their symbol the Cresent. when i see the flag of lebanon I remember the Lebanese people, how they are so friendly towards strangers, love their country, and believe in beauty. We always raise the flag over our heads to point that we are here the Egyptians. I hope when somebody see it he could remember good memories about us. I don't think he will remember "Salah Eldin" and links that Egyptians are Anti Christian. By the way Salah Eldin was not. I raise the flag and I see a symbol of my home, kind Egyptians, my family, my friends.... It's clear for me now that who talks about the symbols, worships them and will never go deep in his believes. I respect the Egyptian flag, my flag and I always will. Diligent Fox |
